At Townsend Solicitors we offer a genuine "No Win No Fee" service. This means that we do not charge you for acting for you. We do not charge for our work on lost cases and on successful cases (the vast majority) we recover our legal costs from your opponent (or their insurer).
This payment of costs is in addition to your damages so you keep 100% of your compensation. We will only charge costs that we are able to recover from the other party at the end of the case.
Unlike Claims Management Companies, we are Specialist Personal Injury Solicitors approved by the Law Society. Also, we will not charge you for an expensive insurance policy which cannot be recovered in full from the losing party, so you really do keep 100% of any compensation that we recover for you.
The amount of your compensation is divided into two parts. The first part is to compensate you for your actual injury and is called general damages. The amount that you receive depends on a number of factors including:
The second part is to compensate you for the financial consequences of your accident. This can include many items but some examples are:
The assessment of the amount of damages is a very important and difficult process which is why you need the expertise of Townsend Solicitors on your side.
Unfortunately it is impossible to answer this question as each claim is different. In the majority of cases we are in a position to finalise the case just as soon as our client recovers from their injury. In other words we do not recommend that you settle your case until you have made a full recovery from your injuries.
This can range from anything from a matter of weeks to years.
However you can be sure that we will be as keen to bring the matter to a conclusion as you are as we do not get paid until after you have received your compensation. There will be no undue delay on the part of Townsend Solicitors but nor will we put you under any pressure to finish your claim until it is right for you.
Some cases are more straight forward than others but most follow the same steps.
Some cases become more complicated than this because we do not receive an admission of liability or we cannot agree the amount of compensation. However you can rest assured that we will keep you fully informed as to developments and the options open to you at every step of the way.
